| Notes for Anna K. Colvin | ||||||||||||||||
| Listed on the 1850 Kane County, Illinois Census as being 30 years old and born in New York.100 "Howard, Anna K. (dau?) of Philo d. 11 Sept. 1861, age 11-6-2"44 After viewing the stone myself, I believe the 11 actually reads 41 years and that this Anna is the wife of Philo. The stone is quite large, although it has fallen and nows lies flat in the grass. This stone is very readable except for the 41. There are two smaller stones; one for another Anna died 11 Apr 1860 aged 2 years and another for Philo J. son of P. and A. died 30 Mar 1855. Both the smaller stones are unreadable (1997). When I frst found the graves in the early 1980's, they were still readable. Gravestone reads: "ANNA K. Philo Howard DIED Sept. 11, 1861 AGED 41 Yrs. 6Ms. & 2 Ds." Obituary: "At Blackberry, Kane Co., Ill., Sept. 14, 1861, Hanna K., wife of Bro. Philo Howard, aged 41 years, 6 months and 2 days."101 | ||||||||||||||||
